    I'm with Baley -- a varied collection is much more my speed. I've never bought into the 20 coin A box theory. I'd rather have a little of everything including raw album sets. Nothing like the feel of a album full of heavy silver coins!

    c'mon 5 - 14 - 17 - 23 - 27 P 6 so I can have a dream collection! One dream coin would never satisfy my OCD.
    Varieties are the spice of a Type Set.

    Need more $$$ for coins?

    Without a doubt a nice collection. The dream coin would only tease me, make me go and get more to go with it, so it would become a collection anyway.

    I too would rather have the collection rather than a single coin.

    It would have to be a killer coin and I am not sure which one that would be.

    Collection is the way to go -- I've put a lot of effort into building up my collection, and I'm proud of a lot of the coins that I've picked for inclusion. With a single dream coin, you buy it and that's it -- you're done.

    The collection wins.

    If I wanted to sell some pieces that I really like, I could afford to buy some more early gold type coins, which is what I really want. The trouble is, I would be regretting that fact that I not longer had those coins if I made that move.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    How long can you sit and look at one single coin? All day? Every day? Even the 1913 "V" Nickel would get boring after a little while....yes....boring! Give me a collection, any day. I wouldn't call my collection high end, but it's a lot of fun to take it out and look at for hours every once in a while.
