Was wondering if anyone had opened any Mint Wrapped rolls yet, and if so, how is the quality. Wondering if it is worth busting open a few rolls in search of some Gems. I know most people here favor bank rolls for such a search, but I haven't heard mush positive yet in their reviews of the new Nickels in bank rolls. Sure owuld appreciate any input.

If you are looking for 66 or better you will have to search a bunch of rolls. 67's I think will be tough from the rolls.
Jefferson obverse takes a lot of hits--nasty ones and obvious.
The Bison hides them well.
The D roll looked better and may be easier.
The best about bank rolls is it only costs you a nickel if you find one that is good.
If you open 10 mint rolls--$90 minus $40 face value it costs you $50 for your 1 good coin.
If you find bank rolls buy them and search them.

<< <i>Halfway thru a 1000 D nickel bag. Not much so far. A few so far may grade MS 66. but most are MS 63-64. I will keep you posted. I might not even open the P 1000 nickel bag depending on how the D turn out-might bring a premium later on unopened. >>
Hello all,
ICG has made 19,000 MS 67+ nickels (I'll leave it up to you to debate their grading skills ), so I really wonder if there will be any value in a grade < MS67.
With the premium associated with unsearched mint/bank rolls, it may not be worth it to search them if the first few rolls are duds. There are always the mint sets to check.

I'd give you the world, just because...
Speak to me of loved ones, favorite places and things, loves lost and gained, tears shed for joy and sorrow, of when I see the sparkle in your eye ...
and the blackness when the dream dies, of lovers, fools, adventurers and kings while I sip my wine and contemplate the Chi.
<< <i>I opened 1 mint wrapped roll and found 3 to send to PCGS--my hope is a pair of 65's or 66'2 ( unlikely).

Not sure what this has to do with the value of a PCGS graded coin in grades < 67.
One or 2 may pass for 66 or better the other 5 should be 65-66

ditto - and Bison 'does' hide flaws pretty well. I got my 2 orders in from mint - one a week or two ago, and another one today. I am not going to open any mint rolls - only the bank rolls.
