Would someone please confirm that this is a fake Trade Dollar

I want to make sure before reporting it (I think the broken "8" makes it a fake). And let's not prejudge based on the fact that the seller is in China and it's a private auction.

    there ya go Hamm- knocking that poor chinese guy because the 8 was sliced off in the press when being made last week.
    As for his ebay rating- well heck I have a 92 with only 30 buys in the last 5 months- got negged by 2 idiots who couldn't handle the truth.

    Oh- it's a fake see reverse for the berries under the eagle claw...

    I don't know of any U.S. coin that has a date with the bottom of the "8" missing like that. It's also got the "look" of a counterrfeit. eBay shoudl ban sellers like this for life, but it never happens.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
