Beware Of Bogus Ebay Email!!! Please Read:

OT: If you recieve an email that says and looks like it's from Ebay saying that your account has been suspended because you put yourself, others, and the Ebay community at risk, looks generic, gives you a chance to get it back on a certain date by clicking on the link, installing the language, and signing in, THAT EMAIL IS A FAKE!!! DELETE IT OR REPORT IT TO EBAY RIGHT AWAY!!! People from Korea are sending these to random Ebay accounts, I got one and thought it was real. I was afraid, then repsonded to the real Ebay with questions about it. They told me it was a fake and to delete it right away, they also said they're working on stopping them. Just wanted to help you guys out.image

  • These are very convincing emails.

I wonder what would happen if Ebay sent our legitimate requests for updated account info?? Would anyone respond?
  • Forward any such email (preferably with full headers) to "spoof@ebay.com" so that ebay can either verify that the email is authentic (fat chance that will happen) or inform you that it is a spoof and, hopefully, work at shutting down the operation.

Same thing goes for Paypal messages. Forward those to "spoof@paypal.com" for analysis and to help others.
