How is this possible?

Several months ago, (Say 6) I went to a swap meet. There was a Nintendo section with Nintendo products. However, as I was looking in a glass covered case I noticed a gold coin. It said: "Kellogg & Co." on it. It was a 1 oz, and it had a price tag of $100 dollars. Foolishly, thinking of the Kellogg cereal, I assumed it was a fake promotional item from a cereal box made by Kellogg. Now, I want to ask you folks. Were there any 1 oz gold coins made with "Kellogg & Co." on them?

  • Yes and $100 would be a great price. The probability it was real is low.

If that was a real coin and was in great condition I've seen them go for tens of thousands of dollars.

Could've been fake though, never know image. (Likely was image)

  • Anything is possible but for goldcoinlover who believes his ANACS slabbed gold coins are fake should never buy a raw coin like this one. I would bet $ its fake also.

  • I wasn't trying to give a low blow at all but just how I see it. It might really turn him off to collecting if he buys a fake coin like that.

"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose."
