<< <i>Why is it that there are no Morgan's out there with that same close banded rainbow toning pattern that this coin evidences from 6 to 10 o'clock? >>

I have seen some Morgans that carry close banded rainbows, most were crescent bag toned dollars. I own a crescent toned 83O that carries this close banded effect.
If It doesn't have great eye appeal, I don't want it.

    Exceptionally cool Peace $ Bear.Verrry nice!image
Great coins are not cheap, and cheap coins are not great!
  • Would it matter if it were a 64 or 65. It's real pretty and sold for way more than 65 price so I doubt the grade made any difference.

<<Im a big boy. Many of the observations are correct.

However you have to weigh the positives against the

negetives and make a personal decision as to the coin.

If one cant stand criticism about coins and a judgement,

then that person should not participate on a coin forum.>>

Well said and I love your adittude Bear. image

    two: It's toned image

While I believe toned Morgans are soon due for a valuation correction, attractively toned Peace dollars have great potential. There just are so few of them. This one is absolutely fantastic. Congrats! ....and I guess you kinda suck too.

Agreed -- not with those hits on the cheek. Without the color, it's a 63.

Yes, but are any of them toned????

Great looking coin but I'm not sure it's the World's Finest -- Art's coin is spectacular, Toningintheblood has a 34-D that is amazing as well, it's hard to say which one is the World's Finest. Ron S. has a KILLER 23-S as well.

Guys,Bear sold that coin almost a year ago,and i believe that Doug bought it back from seller, after the coin got bashed because of questionable toning.Have not seen it in hand so no comment from me,just a memory jog.image

    So what is the verdict?
  • BearBear Posts: 18,953 ✭✭✭
The verdict is, that no one will ever know

for sure. It is a lovely looking coin and has

a most hypnotic effect, when you hold it in

your hands. Dont really know why this old thread

was reserected, must be a slow day for news.image

    This is way too funny.

So many people read threads and don't pay attention to the passing of time.

Ya'll hear that the Japaneese signed surrender papers? It was in 1945, but seems timely considering some of the comments in this post.

You can sure tell when someone, in this case several someones, don't read a thread before chiming in.
