Spent too much on those Richmond Barber Halves and now I have to sell almost everything I own On the

Well I did not think I was going to win some of the lots when I entered my online bids but it turns out I got in a little over my head.... I now have to sell well over 1/2 of my coins to raise the funds needed to pay for the auctions. I think it might be less tramatic for me to change my name and move to Mexico, David Lawrence will never find me there. image Well I have been saving up little by little for the following coins and now I have to sell them. image Years of collecting will be gone to make way for the new coins to come...

    Nah.

I like the morgans you posted better than I would most barbers image
But, the price is prohibitive to me right now (I am after some early date lincolns and some modern crap from the USMint) and I think morgans are overvalued in general (I could be wrong and they could continue to sky rocket, but then, I only need 1893 and 1895 to complete my year set).

So, how many coins total are you going to sell? Just curious.

Barberkid - I went to the BST boards and didn't see your coins listed. Are you going to put some pics up?

P.S. "This post is nothing more then spam to advertise your coins on the BST board, it doesn't belong here." I think we ought to make exceptions for Barber half sales. It is the humane thing to do.

It's sometimes too easy to end up with too many lots. I heard that prices tapered off after the Barber halves sold. You may have ended up with more than you thought if the quality of the pieces was a little less than expected. I hope that would not be the case.

I'd like to see the auction houses all have a max expenditure agreement like Heritage uses. It would allow bidders to bid on more lots and not pay more than they are comfortable spending.

Roadrunner - I have discussed the max $ bid amount with another auction house. You can do this, but you need to speak with someone over there.

    "Seu cabra da peste,

Thanks El Contador. I recall that B&M used to offer it when Dave Bowers was there. I don't know if they still do. But in the future if the need arises, I will contact an auction house in question to see if they would offer it.

I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks that barbers look like an ugly guy dressing in drag? imageimage

They remind me of Russ (but with shorter hair) image

Seriously though, I have 1 "inherited" barber dime and that is the only barber coin. I have a hard time thinking of purchasing one....although I need a nice couple for my type set.
