Looks like it was time for a bath! image

I kinda liked the before picture even though I'm a "blast white" kind guy! image It appears as if the cartwheel was lost after the "restoration"! image
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

a bit of a soft strike typical for a mid 40's S mint Washie, looks like the bath did the coin well....

Hard to find any grade limiting distractions on that Washie based on the pictures....
Looks to be a ms66 in my eyes.....

I am not the biggest fan of dipping.

This coin seems to have benefited from the bath.

Dave, I'm not pro-dipping and I sure don't want to hurt your feelings. I'll take your word that it looked bad before the bath but honestly, the coin on the left was all original and according to some that I've seen in 7 holders ( some as ugly as sin), IT had a better chance of attaining the higher grade because of that original skin and what appears to be great, unbroken cartwheel luster, whereas now it doesn't look natural anymore and that great luster is forever gone.

It may go 66 but franky, it looks like any chance it may have had at a higher grade is also forever gone. Just look at them. There is no comparison. Sorry, JMHOimage Hey, but Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you're satisfied that it looks better now, then I suppose that's all that matters.image

I agree with Boom. I'm a fan of originality, even with some less than desireable spots.

Dipping the coin has left it with the "look" of a dipped coin. The originality is now gone.

Nice looking coin, but it's not for me... sorry.

I have to agree with Boom and DAM. I kind of liked the coin better in it's original state.
