Is toning like this common? And my 2 favorites from my collection. Nothing outrageous, but a start

Here are a couple of my favorites in my collection right now. Is the toning on the edges of the Franklin uncommon? Because i have never seen toning just on the edges. Tell me what you think.........

First is my 1968-S Proof Lincoln cent, ungraded....

And here is my other favorite coin in my collection, a 1961 Proof Franklin, ungraded

And here are the edges of the same Franklin, which I really like. This noticable but subtle toning is what makes this coin my favorite in my collection right now.

Please feel free to leave comments, grading assumptions (as non of these have been graded yet), or pics of your favorite owned coins. Thanks a bunch!

I have a 1966 SMS cent that looks exactly like that but it has absolutely zero hits/marks on it. I'm hopeing Marty will take a pic of it and post it on the board.

  • Edge toning is common though typically it spreads to the obverse or reverse of the coin......must have not had enough time to do so in your case.

As others said, both proof coins, which you knew....impossible to grade from the dark scans, but keep working on your imaging and welcome to the boards image
