Coin Show Report - Parsippany, NJ

Once again, the monthly, 80-dealer Parsippany, NJ show was very crowded and very busy. It was very hard to get down the aisles and a lot of business seemed to be getting done. I didn't have as much time as usual, so I just briefly said "Hi" to Wihlborg, Jeremy and Bustman as I came in the front door.
All the usual stuff was there (Morgans, Peace, classic commems, etc.) in the usual quantities. I was, however, surprised to see several ANACS-slabbed Walkers from the middle years (teens and twenties) in the middle circulated grades (VF and XF); although, I'll have to take another look at Bruce Fox's book, because all the coins looked way overgraded to me (it must be weak strikes compared to the coins of the '30s and '40s). Dealers generally had very full display cases and seemed to be buying, as well. A couple of the dealers I talked to were looking forward to Baltimore with some excitement!
I was pleased to see two or three Old Tenor half eagles (like an 1812 in AU-58) as well as four or five C- and D-mint half eagles (and several more quarter eagles). I also saw an 1862-S half eagle in NGC MS-61! (the label on the slab said "tied for finest known"; the Civil War year S-mint gold coins are downright uncommon!). I also saw a really pretty lavender-toned San Diego commemorative half in MS-66 (in a really old ANACS slab)
So-Called Dollars must really be taking off, because I saw three or four dealers with them in their cases (raw and slabbed).
I also saw a NGC sample slab with a Proof-65 Roosie in it for $10 (I actually almost bought it!)
Although I didn't buy anything, it was a good show (and now I, too, am looking forward to Baltimore!)

Must be the dealer from NJ that had a hoard of them and is selling them on ebay for $6.95.
