A couple of months ago I purchased 2 Lincoln cents on e-bay from the same seller "GEN-RARE-CO"; a 1913-s and a 1926-s. Once received I reviewed the coins and noticed a orangey color but the coins looked good; The seller had a 7 day return policy. So instead of returning them I sent them to NGC for grading. NGC return them ungraded with the comment of "whizzed". As I was upset, I did have that feeling.
I went back to the seller for further review and found this seller changes his E-Bay name every other month or so but has a high e-bay rating 99.5 and is now TEMP-HIATUS. Even so I have two penny that are whizzed. And not being a SCUB***, I just can't resell as originals.
Any recommendations of what I can do with these pennies? I though of sending them to NCS to be encapsulated as being genuine, is it worth it?

Someone who is just trying to fill an album probably would'nt care as they're not bad looking coins.

Those dates are not typically counterfeited. Consequently, I see no reason to spend additional $ to have them holdered as "genuine". As they say, "don't throw good money after bad".
I would imagine I have a least a dozen or so Morgan Dollars I bought off eBay RAW and will have to eat the losses on them.
That's the chance you take when you don't have them "in hand" or buy them that have been already graded by a reputable grading service.
Hopefully, this learning experience wasn't too costly to you.

Keep them as a reference so that you might be able to avoid getting stuck again. They are not worth enough to rate any kind of slab, not even a Coin World "home sealed" slab.
To be candid with you, one of the problems that I have with many Lincoln cent collectors is that a very large number of them want only red coins. The trouble is a great many Mint State Lincolns, just like the Mint State Inidan cents, have toned to red-brown or brown. Many of these Lincoln collectors can't spot coins that have been cleaned. They buy these coins at "bargain basement prices" and then at times come back to a dealer who has offered them the real thing and proclaim, "See! Your prices ARE too high. I can get these coins for a lot less!" They don't realize until it's too late (when they send the coins in for grading or try to sell them) that they have been "HAD."
Regarding the coins, you said they looked "funny" when you got them. You should have returned them to the seller at that time and not wait like you did.
I looked at your pictures and they do looked whizzed or cleaned to me. If that was the seller's pictures, I would never have bid on them.
I do not buy copper, because I know I would get sunk since I know very little about them. I only have a few low grade examples and they are what they are-but I am happy with them.
Since you state you are not a scumbag, and cannot sell them as originals, then why not sell them as what they are-whizzed? You will make back some of your money, but may take a small wash, too. But, look on the bright side, at least you will not be out hundreds of dollars.
The most I have ever taken a wash on was a few tens of dollars. Not enough to lose sleep over in my opinion.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do with the two coins.

Rampage I am really suprised you made this suggestion. He may be up front and describe the coins as whizzed but what is there to insure that the next person will do the same ?
I think selling the coins will just set up another person to get taken later on. In light of the fact that he did not take advantage of a return policy the coins should be kept as a learning lesson and not returned to the market place. How else can collectors rid the hobby of this type of coin if we, as collectors, will not do our part to keep problem coins out of the market.
BTW it just kills me every time I see a Whizzed coin in a ANACS slab and stated as so. Its just not right.

The original poster appears to not want the coins. That being the case, my suggestion was to sell the coins, but be honest about their problems in the auction description. My suggestion is not to rip someone off, but be honest and state they were whizzed. You are correct that it may be setting someone up for a fall if the new buyer buys tham and then turns around and sells them as BU or something of that nature. That being the case, too, I really would not know how to proceed.

Have a closed mind, there are absolutely no good raw coins available, all the good ones have already been slabbed.

However, I hear of more problems with scammers and not-so-legitimate sellers that I think its fool hardy to buy raw coins from someone you don't know.
I listen to those who have good experience and I don't need to get scammed by some unscrupulous seller.

Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.
Here is a sample of what I do with Whizzed Coins. The other thing that is done is to just keep the coin for a reminder of a stupid buy. Darn I have 5 of them now.
