  • B. The frost looks better and the fields look darker.

#2... it hides all the flaws image

Seriously, it looks better, because when you hold a proof, you angle it to make the fields jet black--that's what the picture does.

"B" by a long shot. Nice Pic!
  • Both were shot straight on. Not at any angle.

Sorry... I didn't mean to imply that you shot at an angle. I'm simply saying that most have a tendency (as far as I can tell), when holding a proof coin, to angle it (whatever angle it must be) so they see frosty devices on jet black mirrors... your second shot illustrates that effect, even if it was the lighting, not the camera that was angled.

"B" by far looks better. I collect Proof Lincolns and this is one of the best shots I've seen. What software did you use after you took the picture?

    Hi Doug,

What type of bulbs are in the lamps as pictured in your setup? TIA

Thanks. I use Adobe PhotoDeluxe Business Edition, Version 1.0.1 (1998) Got it with an old Kodak DC280 Digital back in '98

I didn't do anything to the pics but crop, size, and add the black around the coin.

Both pics are of the same coin image Just different setups (see post above)

    Brian,

I am using a 60 Watt Reveal Bulb in each lamp.
