I need state quarter help please

I just had a 2 questions from a state quarter forum member. Please help. Are the state quarters that are altered with gold and platinum plate spendable? Has anyone bought from Littleton coins and are they OK?

    They're definitely spendable although a bit "mutilated." I probably wouldn't spend 'em, just keep them around and tell others what NOT to do to coins.

    Littleton Ok if you want to pay two to three times what stuff is worth.
    I just sold a 1986 SAE for 13.95 in case Littleton wanted 37.95 for the same
    coin. IMO You should buy a Redbook and use it as a guide for prices before
    you start buying from Littleton or HSN.
    Lots of people sell on here for much better prices.
