Nah - I think Im going to enjoy them for a while and wonder about the possibilities - it's neat getting these things still sealed after 50 plus years - don't see them very often like this.

The stamps aren't worth diddly by themselves ... with the envelopes ... hard to say what some collector may pay for them.

I can't - there's too much dust and cobwebs down there - can't see anything image
  • Cancelled stamps don't command the higher prices as do unused stamps. I just sold a whole bunch of stamps but most were cancelled out. Needless to say I was a bit dissapointed but very few collect stamps today and the market has weakend since I started colecting. Did you post on the stamp forum? Those guys would know the values.

Open those suckers. What the heck are you waiting for.image
  • The stamps are worth about 2 cents each, but you have to soak them off the envelope.

Edit: Ok, looks like Lablover looked them up, and the three are worth 50 cents.

  • rip er open?

  • im going to a 12 step program for it
  • That's cool having the original envelope from the Treasury with the stamps on it. Worthless stamps as everyone said though as I inherited a stamp collection(a box with thousands of them from late 1800's to 1960) from my grandfather. Almost all of them cancelled though. Might be a good *trap* to dump on eBay as an *unsearched* hord of stamps. image

There is an envelope and letter from 1954 from the White House with a handwritten copy of a letter Mamie wrote to my grandmother, so at least something was cool out of it.

These unopened sets are one of the last treasures to be found- I compare them to finding an original BU. unopened roll of Morgans. I have little will power and I would have opened them right away image. Mike image
