If it takes as long to get the results back as it did at FUN, then those folks will be waiting a while?

    Andy,
You know Bruce didnt jump in for the fivegrand?

    TDN,

did you think the coins were easier this time, the same, or tougher?

I thought they were easier. It seemed to be mainly dollars and saints ... which are as easy as any to grade.

I disagree. There are 2 1922 and 4 1923 Peace dollars. I bet if we send in these 6 coins raw 5 times, we will get 5 different combination of grades. If PCGS graders cannot consistently grade them, you have to be very lucky to guess the grades correct.

I think last year final round is easier image

  • A Lot of the coins were sliders also and could go either way.

I did slightly better this time, but my inexperience in gold still caused me to undergrade a few of the 20's. The commems I did better as well as the morgan's, Thier was one or two I totally blew it on, but overall not too bad. Made another spot into the final round, but I am not able to attend San Fran anyway due to a conflict, but it was still fun to participate.

Good luck to the rest of the folks signing up !!!

    Hmmmm - I didn't see any sliders.

I would do terribly on these grading contests. I agonize too much over the $5 and $10 Indians.

I am just a mediocre grader.

Who can grade $5 Indians?!?! image

They threw in 6 common date Peace dollars for the grading contest? That seems kind of dull. I hope there were a few tricky counterfeits to make it a bit more interesting.

The coins in the contest sucked. Must have been a half roll of 1922 Peace Dollars, 5 generic 63/65 Saints.

They should have a much better mix of coins....hey we are talking PCGS here!

    I haven't rec'd my score yet, but my goal is a 70.

BTW What did you fellows grade the Seated Dime, 1932 Ten Indian, and the really nice 81-S Morgan?
