SGS Slab MS-70 Cross-Over to PCGS MS-67????

Anyone ever had a SGS Slab MS-70 Cross-Over to PCGS MS-67???? This is a supid question since a I know that SGS is not a good grading company, but they can't be that bad. Curious if a MS-70 from SGS would ever grade to a MS-67 PCGS. I would never ask this question on a PROOF, but what about a MS????

    Yes they can.

I think you would have a better chance of a proof crossing to PR-67 then a MS one.

Why is that. The PF's seem to be more scrutinized by the graders. I would think theat since eveything from SGS on MS is 69-70 that they would be better suited for a crossgrade from MS70- to MS67?

Probably would be closer to a 57 then a 67.

image Good question John! I'd like to see some actually data. Guessing is ok but who knows till some actual results are posted? I might buy, and submit, some SGS so we have some concrete data on this. A few examples won't be exact of course, but it's a start. Some PCI and NTC worked out right. Stay tuned! Lee
  • I'd stay away from any SGS slab unless you have it in hand and know how to grade.

I'm at a show in a couple of days. If one shows up, I might just buy it to send in a try. If it works, I'll let everyone know. What a great thread this would make. Dam, Ebay would go NUTS!!!!!!

You must be kidding, for the sake of your wallet treat all SGS coins as being raw!
