Eagle Certified Coin Album

I've seen a couple recommendatins for the above referneced coin album. I really dig the idea of having my slabs in an album. Does anyone have any pics of their coins in one of the labeled pages? I'm just curious to see what it looks like. The Eagle website doesn't provide a decent picture, and I've scoured the forum for an old post.

Thanks!!

  • I don't have a picture but I use them.

Overall I like the pages, but the drawbacks.....

    1. Pages are hard plastic, and can crack/split if you handle the pages/slabs a lot.
    2. PCGS rattlers don't fit...and you have to buy special foam adapters for ANACS slabs
    3. Newer NGC slabs are a little bigger...they fit okay, but it's a tight fit...

I used them for years before I got a SDB. They worked great for me.
  • What's an SDB?

  • I guess then you like these albums? Do you recommend them?
  • Yep....I love this album. When I first started collecting , over a year ago, I bought my first slabbed Frankie. I figured, If I'm going to get more I need something to hold them. The eagle Album was a perfect fit. I saw it on the web page and kinda rolled the dice and bought it anyway regardless of the pic. I figured I could always send it back if I didn't like it.

Some of what the others have said I have not experienced. My pages haven't cracked yet. Although I don't move coins in or out of it alot. When I get a new coin I slide it in it's spot and put the album back.

I only collect PCGS Frankies, so I can't say much about other slabs not fitting. But I'm sure others have experienced this.

If you like the look of the album and collect only the PCGS slabs like me for a particular series ...I would say get one.

Something else a board member brought up......If you set this album up like a regular book (not flat like my first pic) it doesn't say anything about coins on it......looks like a regular book.....kinda a deterent, if ya know what I mean.

  • I have a complete set of Silver Washingtons in them and have not had any problems. Prior to holding my washingtons, the pages held my Proof Kennedy registry set. I have had them for 2-3 yrs. with no problems. They are much better than PCGS Blue Boxes, IMO. I just could not justify buying their albumns only for the lettering.image

    Same here.image
Buy the pages in the six pack.
    Have used these for years.
Have broke 2 or 3. All at the top of the page.
    It's a bit thin there. It's a great product.image

I use them and even take coins to shows in them. Don Merz introduced me to them and I really like them.

I use them also. I have room for 63 Lincoln memorial proofs in my three ring binder. The rings are elongated and the binder is 3" wide. I can put a cover page printed from my computer. Great product. Steveimage
  • Will do!!
  • I too use these for my certified coins, and for proof sets.

A couple suggestions that I have:

First, place some type of reinforcement in the ring holes. I used some white duct tape, but anything would would. I had a couple of pages start to tear around the holes, so I needed to reinforce it.

Secondly, if you are building a set, I found it nice to print some Avery labels to place in each slot to label the collections. These can be printed about 30 to a page and placed in the upper part of the indentation for the slab.

I have been using the Eagle brand certified coin albums for years. I feel its the best way of displaying my sets. The pages also fit very nicely in the bank safe deposit boxes !

FYI: I received an advertisement of their's today, they are raising their prices the first of March. If you're at all interested ... go to : www.eaglecoinholders.com

I love these things too! I don't use the Eagle binders but I do use the pages and have for quite some time. I just use a normal 3 ring binder with a window so I can put in my own cover. Here are some pics...and wow did the pics really come out bad! lol

I'm also getting ready to purchase an album. Are these Eagle albums the same as those they sell at Amos Advantage Amos ? I saw that AA sold some Eagle albums but I didn't know if these pages were the same and which one you would suggest?

I did some shopping around last weekend after my son posted on this same subject and found Brent Krueger had the lowset prices.

It's kinda funny that I got to use them again!

I really wish that they would give a better view of how the Album actually looks. The pic that they have is not even close to what I have shown in this thread. Leaves you wondering excatly what the hell kind of album it is.

I will leave these pics loaded incase another asks about the album.

Isn't it crazy how nothing can be posted on something and then there will be 3 or 4 posts about it? Is that the "100 monkey" thing?

BTW that's not referring to behavior on the forums in case anyone is wondering. image

I've got an Eagle album and like it overall. It wasn't cheap, I think I paid around $40 for the binder and 4 pages.

The only down side is that the NGC slabs are very tight and it's easy to pop some of the connectors in the construction of the pages getting them out, but they are strong enough even if a few are broken. I've also found that the first page has gotten kind of foggy from rubbing against the inside of the front binder. This means that I always have to take the coins out to really look at them.

I like the idea of keeping one or two pages home with the binder and the other two in the vault for security reasons.

    That's my take.
