OK, you're on. I'll try for the next four:

    1. Witty retorts.
    2. Feign I'm-above-it-all indifference while posting day and night
    3. Set up a couple new alt-ID's and get maliciously busy with them
    4. Eventually disappear

<< <i>Well you just had to TTT NOW THIS MY LAST OFFER I WILL PAY YOU FOR THE COINS AND SLABING FEE IF YOU CAN PROVE YOU DIDN'T CLEAN THEM SHUT UP OR PUT UP. >>

Now Richard, why in the world would I, (even if some one taught me how to) clean 9 coins and send them with 126.00 to PCGS so they could be body bagged?

I can prove this, I bought them from you, I sent them to PCGS, they sent them back to me, all 9 as cleaned.

So, Now that I trusted you, why don't you TRUST ME: Send me a money order for 90.00 + 126.00 (216.00) and I will return your cleaned coins in the PCGS labeled flips and we will have conducted our business.

I will wait for your confirmed acceptance to this proposal and your Money Order. Once received, I will once again post having accepted and received your above stated offer.

You see Richard, this doesn't just hinge on money alone. Foremost it is principal. I TRUST these boards and the people whom make up these boards and conduct business here. I feel for the most part it is a safe haven for all of us interested in learning and collecting coins.

I too believe the accusation of me having done something to these coins was both fictitious and uncalled for. Many people here can stand behind my integrity. How many can stand behind yours?

The offer stands as stated above. I will wait for your decision to do the "Right Thing". >>

    I'm Still Waiting Richard...............................?

Not a good idea. In addition to the laceration to mirabela's rectum, it might make it difficult to retrieve the thread when we want to entertain ourselves with it in the weeks and months to come. Too risky, IMO.

I'll pass, but thanks for the suggestion. If you're into that kind of thing, I can burn a copy to CD and mail it down to you, though.

So Richard, when might I expect a CASHIERS CHECK from you? Is it in the mail? I guess you want to "renig" on the publicly announced offer to pay my grading fees (126.00), that is to be expected considering the source. I will be waiting for the CC and let everyone HERE know when it arrives. Thank you Richard.

All this could have been avoided if only the communication dialog started early and quickly with an amicable return/refund arrangement agreed upon (without dragging it out on public). At this point it'll probably leave a permanent scar or at least a cast a shadow of a doubt on the seller. image

My off still stands PROVE you didn't clean the coin. I know you can't and you get the slabing fees. I DON"T TRUST YOU TO RETURN MY COINS IF I SEND YOU THE MONEY FIRST. also if you send the coins and i don't give you the refund of 90.00 you can have me arrested. it would be mail fraud 10,000 fine up 10 years in jail. PUT UP OR SHUT UP.

If you're so confident that one could so easily have another arrested for such things on a whim, why not just send him the money first?

If I were the buyer, we are now past the time I would have contacted the postal inspector local to this seller's zip code, as well as the relevant detective in local law enforcement. Write up a concise summary of what has happened. Include the URL to this thread, or print the whole thing out and include it. Include a picture of the coins and a photocopy of the bodybag certs. If you've still got his packing materials, hang onto them. As I learned in the Poe58 debacle last summer, those people can be incredibly helpful. Learn their names, get their desk numbers, talk to them in person to give them a quick heads-up about what has happened, then fax them documentation of the whole shebang. I notice his address is fort something or other; it might be worth contacting law enforcement on the base, if that is a military installation.

In a small enough locale (my town, for sure!) that alone will be enough that your man Richard will get a phonecall or a visit for starters. Even in a bigger place, it is good to alert the authorities. It seems rare a person pulls this kind of thing only once. You want there to be a documented history the next time he tries to rip somebody off. He'll get his eventually.

There's another worthwhile possibility, depending how you paid. PM me for details.

I think you've gone about as far as you can go with Bozo here. It is now time to go around him.

Having said that, it is still worth giving him some more free publicity here.

Yes. I've also refunded "lost" items even though I'll never know if that's what really happened.

People have done it for me, too. A number of folks have sent me stuff before I've paid to begin with, too.

I've never had a problem doing any of this. It's funny how the most suspicious people are usually the ones who are themselves up to something crooked.

If you really wanted to be safe, though, you could both send to a third party. Based on how you've presented yourself so far, Richard, I'd never send to you first.
