Sorry if it was already posted on this subject. I did a search and didn't find anything. Bewtween getting some bills paid off, building onto our home and a new baby last June i have been completely out of the loop for awhile. While reading the local paper the oter day they did an internet poll asking if people wanted the penny to change it's design. Has there been plans to give the cent a new look besides the 2009 talk I heard last year?

<< <i>Thanks for the reply. I don't know where they got their info. >>
It's generally presumed that something will happen to the cent in 2009, but as far as I know nothing has been officially sanctioned yet.

<< <i>There has to be a 2009-S VDB cent. Make it a memorial cent with a mintage of 484,000(Oh Yeah). The memorial reverse design would stop the coin alterers from changing the 2009-S VDB to a 1909-S VDB. >>
Doubt this would be a problem since in 1909 the cent actually had some relief to it, and now.... well, just look at one.

theop.....Thanks but I am well aware of this and don't need to pick one up and look at it. I am talking about THE NEWBIES being taken advantage of.
<< <i>A wheat reverse would be pretty nice >>
Wheat reverse would be awesome regardless of scamers possiably preying on newbies.

A high-relief obverse in the sense that the Washington quarters got and a completely new reverse, though I've read of plans to do several commemorative reverses for 2009 only with one of them being the final reverse for the next 50 years or so which will be Lincoln's 250th birthday.
I think it's already a done deal as far as the changes to come, but what they are to be is either very secret or not yet determined.

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

They should stop it in 1908 for an even 100 years of production.
