Different Old PCGS Holder... Condor?

White Ring In Holder

This coin is in a firsts generation PCGS holder, but has a white ring around the coin. I could not find Condor's thread to see if it is listed. First I've seen in 4 years.

    Looks like a ring from an Ait-Tite holder in that slab.image

    It is in his slab book under the PCGS Miscellaneous section. These are only found with cent size coins and I have seen 4-5 in the last 2 years. It is believed that PCGS ran out of the cent shells and for a short time, and used a larger size shell for cents and put in a foam ring to hold them in place. I had one but sold itimage

    That's cool, reminds me of the thread on the bst board by someone who wants to buy any toned coin in those 1st gen holders, hold the foamimage
