Will it upgrade?

Just bought this puppy. Paid strong for it according to 64 money but the gamble was too tempting even for me.

What do you think? Hair above ear too flat for a 65? Anything else I missed?

John, forget about the hair above the ear.

Look at the focal point/Ms.Liberty's cheek! Most of it is dark/off color from disturbances/imperfections of some type - no way on a 65 - sorry.

It also appears to have a string of reed marks on the obverse between the E and P.

I agree with Mark, looks like a strong 4 , but dont think it has 5 potential?

I agree with the others, and think that it looks like a 64........ but with gradeflation, maybe in a few years you'll have a lock 65. BTW, I'm wondering if anybody on ebay has ever sold an older pcgs holder WITHOUT saying that it's a lock for the next grade- is there a rule about having to do that somewhere?

Opinions are freely taken. I tend to agree with you. The cheek was hidden just enough from good lighting to leave me with hope that it might be better.

Oh, and dont worry. I didnt pay that strong. Sheet in 64 is 320 I think. I paid 430...

I dont know what 'strong' is considered, nor do I follow the market that closely, but it seems strong to me......then again, my coin purchases tend to be way under $100.

I'd go along with everyone else's opinion. Its a nice looking 64. Not a chance at 65.

Its hard to take a bath on 100$ over sheet, but if someone would make me an offer like he said he would, I wouldnt have to go slumming on ebay!!

Oh, I have a feeling that it wouldnt. It would shock you what I paid for my icon coin I'm sure...

We're just both so sick...and our only medicine makes it worse.

Will it upgrade?
