You could send it to the Sumdunce Museum!

I have the personal assurance of the curator that this could will be taken care of.

    That's a good looking coin for a 62.

  • Eric, in hand the coin does look better then a 62. imho

The flip bothers me, I keep thinking PVC, as per seller the coin has been in the flip for some time yet

I don't see any harm done.

I would bust it out, give it a good soak in acetone to be sure, then put it in a safe holder or album.

Plus $6.50 shipping, which I wasn't happy about....$1.90 on the envelope image

But then a Meuseum Piece does require extra insurance.

I'm surprised Kiefer wasn't in on this one. Looks like the type of thing that would have him sporting wood.

$6.50 for a raw coin under $50 is a little high. However, it was clearly stated in the auction. You need to determine the shipping before bidding and factor that into how much you will bid. It's for this reason I will not bid on an item unless the shipping cost is clearly stated.

That's easily a 63, and the reverse looks great! I would ordinarily be concerned about that type of holder.... but is it safe to think it's ok since it's been in that holder for a long time? image

  • I'm not upsest over the cost, I knew the cost of shipping before I bid, but I still don't like when I see what was actually paid.

As far as freeing the coin, I don't know, I'd like to keep it as is for my "unusual stuff" collection.

I probably would not have bid. I assume a seller is shipping in an envelope or small bubble mailer unless otherwise stated. For a coin like this, I would list S&H at $3.50. $6.50 is a little beyond reasonable.
  • This seller asked me about it through my website. I told him I had never seen one like it and it must have been a coin that did not meet a minimum grade when it was slabbed through Teletrade.

He replied and saw my answer and then popped it up on ebay with claims like: "THOUGHT TO BE THE ONLY ONE EXTANT." Which I never said. He used "sample" to draw in the sample guys even though it is not a sample slab. Bad form in my opinion. Conder101 might know more about pregraded Morgan but I wouldn't listen to his auction description. Pure BS.

  • Plus once I saw this auction I e-mailed him and said it is not a sample slab and I did not tell him this in my e-mails. He replied saying he asked another expert at FUN......but I really doubt that. I still have my e-mails saved and the ones he sent with pics of the same flip and coin.
