NGC 12 day service rip off!!!!!!!! :Ubermad;

I apologize in advance if this is a rant heard here often but,... AAAAaaaagghhh!!!!!! image

I just called to check on my submission. It was only two coins and I wanted them back fairly quick so I paid for their 12 day turnaround time. They informed me on the phone (since they do not have an online way to check) that they are currently running 32 DAYS!!!! for their 12 day service. image

So I asked her, well do I get some free submissions or something then for taking three times as long as the service you imply we'll receive? She said no that they are only estimated times. image

All I could do was tell her they stink at estimating... imageimageimageimageimageimage

Based on your post, I'd say NGC needs a "dept of human relations" and "quality control manager".image

My Earlybird submissions have been coming back fast. What service did you use?

Early bird and I sent them next day. They were received 2/2/05. 32 business days would put them back to me around... I don't know exactly about April I think.

I seriously doubt it will take 32 business days. You're currently on business day 11, so it's a bit premature to get all hot and bothered.

They do also say estimated times... that said, I've always gotten my coins back on or before the estimated date.

I just called NGC and spoke to a person who would know, and was told that they are "approximately a week behind on that tier". If someone mentioned 32 days, they were apparently mistaken.

    Eedited to add:

<< <i>...that they are currently running 32 DAYS!!!! for their 12 day service >>

I believe it is 12 business days for their "12 day service". If so, "12 day service" is actually 16 days.

NGC is generally quick but they can and do suffer from some of the delay problems that PCGS suffers from. one thing that strikes me as odd about PCGS and NGC is the way they track our submissions for us.

PCGS simply tells us when they're received, when they've been graded and when they've been shipped. simple.

NGC does pretty much the same thing but they have the glitch of NCS not having any kind of online information whatsoever. submitting to NGC via NCS requires a phone call to know when the submission has arrived. they've told me that they're working to remedy that problem, i just find it amazing that the NCS-NGC linkup has been operating for so long with nothing online yet, it's been close to 3-4 years, maybe longer, hasn't it??

here's my current NCS-NGC dilemma, eight medals sent with the 5-free-submission-certificate and 3-free-conservation-certificate.

    Mailed on Jan. 26th.
    Received by NCS Jan. 31st.
    Quality Control posted on Feb.4th.

that may seem quick, but then the glitch took over!!!!!!!!!image
i wasn't surprised that only four of the eight were graded and i'd asked that any "No Grades" be NCS Detail Encapsulated. on Feb. 7th i called to check on that and then waited. on Feb. 15th i called again to inquire about the progress and i asked the rep. what the grades on the four NGC's were. even she had no access to that secret and she only assured me they would all be "Married" and shipped by weeks end.

this is the ultimate torture, being told my stuff is graded but not being able to know for two weeks what the grades are!!!image i suspect MS65, two MS63's and an MS64RB, but i wait..........................

my current opinion is that NGC/NCS needs to fine tune their Order Status page.

I am very happy with NGCs service, even though they have been running a week late on earlybird. I have also noticed that QC is taking a day of two longer. But all in all, I think they are doing a great job over there.

As for the NGC reporting system, I like it. I tells you right where your coins are in the system. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before NCS is intregrated into the system (I hope). I wish PCGS would expand the reporting to tell us what phase our submissions are in, I'm sure that would cut down on a lot of calls to CS.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

I say, if you need them back fast, then you gotta step up to the plate and pay for the faster service???

My last NGC ran a week late, but was still VERY fast. I've been told on NCS-NGC submissions, once the transfer takes place, they become a priority, and are expedited at NGC. I've actually had NCS-NGC order grades post faster than NGC submissions.
