Disgusting crossover results!

Disgusting in a "cha-ching!" sorta way image

Sub #9033664 All were Lincolns crossed from/in ANACS holders; specified cross at any grade.

1951-D was MS64RD, now MS65RD
1956-D was MS65RD, still MS65RD
1972 was MS64RD, now MS65RD
1972 was MS64RD, now MS65RD
1972 was MS63RD, now MS64RD
1972 was MS62RD, now MS63RD
1972 was MS65RD, still MS65RD
1972 was MS64RD, still MS64RD
1997 was MS65RD, now MS66RD

Anyone else ever have a cross-in-holder with this many upgrades?

I once sent in four and got four, but I took it as a sign from the Coin Gods not to ever try it again. image
    When in doubt, don't.

No...NGC would have bagged them all as recolored image

They have a fast and easy system for grading my submissions over there:

    19th century silver = "whizzed"
20th century silver = "improperly cleaned"
    copper = "recolored"

Can't complain about their turnaround times, though!

NGC grades a little tougher than PCGS.

Nice crossover results. There should be a way to indicate sarcasm in thread titles like yours!! image

  • Just more evidence that ANACS is grading very conservatively these days. I just crossed an ANACS MS65 1943-D 25c to PCGS MS66.

I would agree only on MS/PR coins, especially moderns. However, I think ANACS is a bit loose with circulated grades.

Yeah, I would never try to do that. image

By the way, these coins aren't the $5 items they appear to be...I provided enough info for anyone who wondered why I sent in a submission like this to figure it out.

They are not DDs. Maybe because you snuck 2 pre 64 coins in with a modern order???
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

This is why I like ANACS. The same happens with silver dollars as well.

For your sake, I hope the PCGS price guide is even close to accurate! Holy cow! Nice set of DDOs.
  • The new variety grader got a good workout. Lincoln proof varieties also seem to cross very well.

Funny thing is he is probably the guy that graded them at the lower grade when he worked an anacs
