Personnally I like it. But, I`m wondering what you guys and gals think about it. Good? Bad? Either way, I`m wondering what your thoughts are.

The black streaks on the reverse look like they're burned into the coin. Be careful.

The strike makes that one a keeper for sure. It looks original and you should tell me what auction its in. image

added: there may be some light cleaning in front of the face.

    also added: Solid AU
  • Thanks for the opinions. I`m going to roll the dice and take a chance on it. But still, I got the same impression that something doesn`t seem quite right that I couldn`t put my finger on it. So yeah I geuss it isn`t just me. If anyone else wants to add, feel free to do so.image

The black streaks are from a rubber band.

There is a LOT of wear on this coin to call it an AU. I'd lean towards high end XF. As others have noted, the originality of the piece is very desirable and the strike is very very good for a hi-relief '21.
  • The grade is declared as XF45. I think the tone is blah too but, the strike struck me as unusually very good. Thanks for the honesty. I`ll more then likely keep it raw. I wondered too if there was a light clean job too on the obverse. It was a " Coin toss " whether to get it or not. The strike, at least for me, edged it for me to go for it. There is good and bad in it and is a really close call whether it`s worth it or not. Again , thanks for the honesty as that is was I was looking for.
  • That is a very nice collectable piece for the grade.

This coin has a outstanding strike, but it has obvious wear. I would have loved to have seen this one when it first came from the dies.

Given that the grade is probably EF-45 or so, the rubber ban marks don't bother me. It would have been better if they were not there, but they don't detract that much from the coin. Peace dollars are not known to acquire great colors either. So this coin's orginal look, looks just fine to me.
