Hello friends.....I'm a new member to the boards. I live in the Boston, Mass. area. I've been in and out of coin collecting for 20 years. I'm trying to put together (complete) the lincoln wheat series in PCGS cert slabs. To date, I have approximately 90 different dates all in 66 or 67 red. Most of them are from 1930 to 1958. My goal is to buy the remaining pieces in the next 3-4 years....spending about $20,000 to do so. Of couse, I know that I'll have to settle for lower grades for some of the keys....
As I near my goal I hope to set up at some of the local shows occasionally. If I sell a piece or two I hope to use that money to improve my set.
I don't plan on registering my set yet. I hope to actively buy and sell....and improve it first.
Most of the dealers in my area that set up at shows rarely have much in stock in the PCGS cert wheat line. You can find dribs and drabs of the key dates.....like the 31S for example, but rarely, if ever, will a dealer handle high end, common date wheats. I hope to be a force in that area (or create the market if need be.).
Reading and watching the interaction among board members has helped me very much.
I hope to add my wheat cent or two of knowledge when the time comes. Thanks....
Denis

I do not own a restaraunt...
I've occasionally set up at shows to test the waters.....
I'll probably go to the Nashua show this Sunday and I'll bet that I won't find more than two or three post 1934 PCGS cert wheats in 67 RED.... In fact, I may not find any.....
My goal for the time being is to buy and hold. I buy from Heritage, Teletrade, and reputable on line dealers. It would be nice if every time I spent $300 on a $300 coin I got a $300 coin. But I've found that most times I get a $250 coin for my $300. But that's o.k...... I'm trying to get stock, hold it for awhile, then set up in a few years and see what gives.
My other passion is foreign travel. I haven't been to your Isle yet, but some time soon, I hope...
Hope that you enjoy your stay.
