I purchased 10 boxes for $560 from one distributor another 8 (a case) for $460 from another and another case for 445 from another.
I've been using the UPS tracking system to watch their progress from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts. Some will arrive tomorrow! The only thing I care about is putting together a full set for myself and I drop the rest over ebay. I'm glad I'm not the first to put them on eBay. This gives me a chance to understand what's happening on eBay with the cards/
Topps Heritage is and will always be a crowd pleaser to the "collector" who enjoys putting sets together.
I am not trying to dredge up that tired debate about collecting vs. investing.
My motive in this is strictly enjoyment. I genuinely believe that the people that fall into my group get excited about this stuff. We're kids at heart. I fall into the older age group here so, perhaps, that's why my focus is different.
Enjoy these cards guys - the set will bring you up to date with the players, their new teams, the stats etc.
After you put the set together, take a rain day and just look at the cards and read the backs - it will transport you in time to a day when your biggest worry was how to get that zit covered with Clearasil!
Hi My first box was a pretty good success - of course: no autos! Then again, I never do!
I find the Team Cards to be incredible! All are centered and the pics are pretty clear.
Collation looks good, quality not bad, mostly centered and only 2 dinged cards. I picked out the high number SP's and ones that I recognized - may have missed a few low numbers.
Well, since Diamond Kings came out today, I passed on one box of heritage and got a box of that instead. So I have 7 boxes to open tonight. Will post the results of those.
Local shop put them out at $85/box so I wont be buying any boxes from them. My other boxes were from my case so hopefully I picked the right 7 boxes. lol
BTW-my game used I got last night were Musial, Ernie Banks, Frank Robinson (Seats) Miguel Cabrera Clubhouse Collection bat
I haven't been to any shops here in LA yet, but I assume they are going to charge that much. They were way over cost last year on heritage. $85 is a lot for something people are getting for $60 online.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!
Ok what's the right way to open one of these suckers? Exacto knife along the white ends? Pull up the middle flap and slice near the flat of the pack? Or just try and pull the damn thing apart like a candy bar wrapper?
ebay:1967topps 1967and 1973 Topps baseball wantlists (any condition) welcome. Once had the #14 ATF 1967 set. Yet another collector like skylaneflyer, gimel1 who made it to the completion of 1967 only to need the money more than the company of 609 close friends. Looking for oddball Norm Cash and Cleon Jones stuff, and 1956 team cards
Thanx Highend, John, Steve for the kind words of encouragement!
Overall, I'm happy with the product but the lack of a box topper has me bummed...I think Topps messed up big time! That was one of the keys to the hobby box IMO.
I'm thinking ya gonna have to be real lucky to pull an auto out of a retail box?
well people would be willing to pay $300 a box, then I would sell it to them also. However, wanted triple Ebay or other sources seems to be a hard sell to me. Must be loyal customers who don't really care about cost.

He has no loyal customers all the local collectors I know are begging me to get a shop opened again. There are many here locally who have been screwed over on Ebay and will not buy anything unless they can hold it in their hands first.
well if you can do it money-wise then go for it. The slow days will probably make you want to pull your hair out. However, you have experience, so you know better than I. Go for it !! Us CA folks can mail order stuff from ya then.

I've got a BJ Upton THC108 that it says is 12 of 56 - should I feel privileged?

I suppose I would too if I only cared about (or know) any of today's players. The last two players that I loved retired in 2002.

Not really, more like this

My shop wants $80...and I know cost is close to $50, probably less for a shop ordering many cases.
Ridiculous...selling it for 10% above MSRP!
Guys....do not pay $80 a box for Heritage..you will only be hating yourself in the morning.
Mike- Good Start....hope you didnt hit your "case card" in the first box !!
