I don't do copper, but my first thought is AT......
My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable !
  • My first thought is cleaned...cleaned copper tones weird.
  • Badly stored NT

  • Well I went back and read that these coins were stored in (old kraft envelopes)..which im not familiar with so could these actually be the cause of the toning?..heres a item number to the site.

As far as the 1904 - I have two NGC 64RB IHC cents with more purple in them then this, and a PCGS 65BN with more blue then that one. Does this mean I think it is original no, just because I strongly believe that all three of my coins are not original. The 65BN with blue in it, was my fault, I did not realize until afterrinsing in aceton, that aceton would give it this look. As for the purple NGC coins, I believe they were treated with amonia.

1897 - in my opinion is worse, not only AT, but also an AU coin. JMO

not original but looks neat. I would not pay over $20 for coins like this though. A large percentage of slabbed mint state indians are not original either- in my opinion 50% or more of the red ones. mike
