Have you ever had a package from US Mint - lost en route?

Just curious. I ordered on 1/24 - Mint shipped 1/26 - Arrived Oklahoma hub 1/28. As of today still in OK, according to all tracking. They say 1-2 wk. delivery, but when I contacted them today, they said "we still have another 2 wks.". How does 1-2 wks. turn into 4 wks? He\ it's been in OK for 10 days! That doesn't make sense to me, but nobody has an explanation.

This was package one of a two package order - package two which shipped 2/1 arrived today, through Dallas as normal.

On a side note, when I spoke w/Postal employee - he said "this" package was shipped via a Private Carrier which is why it has been routed through OK instead of Dallas.

Has anyone had this happen before? Will they replace the package if I never receive it?

No, but I had one lost going TO the Mint. I'm guessing it got lost at the Mint. It was a return for an exchange of silver proof sets. Luckily, I talked to a Mint supervisor who trusted that I sent in the proof set and sent me a replacement anyway. Phew!

Out of curiosity, was the order for Wisconsin quarters?

I had the quarter set shipped on 1/8 and it hasn't arrived yet. The last time I looked at the tracking it was in San Francisco and I am in Sacramento but that was two weeks ago. I have already phoned the mint and they said to wait a full month from shipping so I will check the mail today and call them tomorrow if it doesn't arrive

uhhhh, yes it was - in fact, I was told there were 1211 items in 'that' shipment. (by USPS who gave me a printout.) Think they were hijacked like the nickels?

I'm going to give them the benefit of allowing the mail to come today and call them tomorrow (Iknow - I'm too kind)

I had a shipment lost last year and after contacting them they sent out replacements - even of items that were sold out! (they keep a few in the back for replacements)
