I give this eBay seller an A+ for honesty. It would be great of all dealers were like this.

Many collectors don't care about these minor problems. They are more interested in a good price. Sadly some people just don't care or don't know enough to know how to grade coins.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

  • I might not want that coin, but I'd buy from that dealer if all I wanted was an example for an album inexpensively. If I save money on the "hole-filler", then the extra can be devoted to really nice key/semi-key dates with good price appreciation potential.
