L&C Coins

Has anyone bought anything form L&C Coins? I won one of their auctions a while back and now I get a catalog from them every few months. If I remember right I was pretty satisfied with the auction and the shipping was cheap. Just wondering if anyone has bought from their catalog and how you felt about the prices.

Thanks,
Millertime

Never bought from their catalog, but bought at least a couple dozen coins on eBay. Service was always good, even when I had to return a few.

I have bought many coins from them at auction. Good service, low shipping, coins as described. The catalog seams high priced.

I won two of their auctions a while back for PR69DCAM MD Quarters. Both had bad eye appeal. One had spots (like some spit got in when slabbed) and the other had some uneven haze over it. I immediately called them and I was surprised how they truly asked no questions. They just said to send them back for exchange. I did and got what I considered perfect DCAMs back very quickly.

So even though I wasn't satisfied originally, the ease of dealing with them for an exchange left me feeling very satisfied. I would buy from them again.

I won a couple of their auctions, but I had to send one coin back for replacement; the first one wasn't "haze free." As for their catalog, I can find the same material at lower prices elsewhere.

I've bought a lot of lower grade Barbers from them. Nary a problem.

I think they're a bit high priced. They put they're prices at full Trends pricing and (I've found) they're generally not willing to negotiate at all. Not my type of dealer to do business with. Plus, on the last coin I purchased from them, I begrudgingly paid full boat for a coin that was ultimately determine overgraded by one notch (should have been an EF40 not EF45). I don't fool with them any more.

Bought through the mail just once. Had to send back.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

They keep sending me their catalogs, but always seem out of stock when I actually go to make a purchase. I have however bought successfully from them off eBay; no complaints.

Bought numerous items from them over the last 10 or so years. Never had a problem. Will be talking to them about a few they have in the current flyer just received.

A great bunch of folks. I give them an A+ w/o a doubt.
  • One of the better eBay sellers.

The catalogue items are a bit too pricey for me, however.
  • I bought a 1909 liberty nickel in an ANACS slab that I feel was overgraded by a point. But it had excellent eye appeal and great toning. So I'm really happy with the coin even though I paid way too much. Service was good -- low shipping charge and I had the coin within a few days.

I no longer do business with them. Had to send too many coins back for undescribed cleanings and overgrading. In one instance I asked them to submit to a TPG at my expense and that if it came back at the grade they stated I would take the coin. It came back in a lower grade as I expected and they simply told me to take it at the original price or they would crack it out and sell it to someone else. All within their perogative and I'm sure the coin has ended up in someone elses collection...raw.

They probably aren't any worse than 95% of the dealers out there.
