I like the toning around the rim.....nice pick up!

I like the rim toning as well. Seems like most all Morgans I see in old ANA & ANACS holders have that same type toning, or is it just me ? Nice coin.

Yeah, wam98, I noticed that too. I've got quite a few with the exact same toning. Its my favorite "look" on a Morgan (hence my icon).

This particular one has great luster.

And it doesn't hurt that its a scarcer date...

About the 99. Didn't the mint make those into 1900 due to lack of dies, making the low mintage figure a little misleading.
Anybody know how many were really minted?

I've read that too. I don't know the full story about the 1899/1900 issue, but its interesting.

BTW: are you a research scientist? Just curious b/c I'm a bio teacher & we're currently covering genetics in my HS bio classes.
