This 1866 Indian Head cent look like it is about 20% off center. What do you all think?

    Actually, from the reverse pics, I think it's a broadstrike and not off center....

    I agree. It's a broadstrike.

    Perhaps it's the picture, but the coin has a funny color. These pieces in this grade should be medium brown. This piece almost looks like copper-nickel.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals.     Broadstrike and I think the coin looks ok...probably a little darker in hand...maybe lightened up to show detail???

    That is what I thought at first too. How much more of a premium is a broadstrike on a semi-rare indian? The seller does state that the pictures are lightened to show detail!

    Looks more dramatic than it is because the denticles are worn off.

    Denticals aren't worn off, since the planchet wasn't restrained by the collar the metal wasn't forced up into the denticals
