Attention photo people! What's the special process to photograph the entire edge of a coin?

In the latest CoinValues there's an article showing Liberty Nickels with the edge photographed in a continuous circle and "attached" to
the coin. It's like the edge was folded up the entire way around so all of it can be viewed at the same time as the obverse.
How's that done???

Or if you had a convex mirror with the coin on the apex.. no... how about a concave mirro with the coin in the center the edges would be shown.. sounds too hard though.
There must be an easier way
