Superior Galleries Auctions

I recently won a coin at the Superior Galleries Ft. Lauderdale Elite auction (Pre-FUN). When I picked it up they charged me $38 bucks worth of Sales Tax. I pointed out to them that there is no sales tax on rare coins in Florida. Glenn said: "Just give us a call and we'll fix it..." Well I've called three times since and recieved no response. I keep getting put on to a voice mail in their accounting department. Frustrating!
I also noticed during the auction that it seemed like every other coin had the wrong picture in their catalog. They kept announcing over and over "Lot # such and such has the wrong photo the correct phot is with lot such and such." Not exactly confidence inspiring.
I know $38 isn't alot of money but,... it should still be MY money.
Anybody have dealings with them? Will they ever fix this?

I ussually pay for the coins at the auction venue then have them send the lots won ... But .. I don't purchase from Superior any more So ....
I didn't have any problems either time with the transaction.
Best of luck sorting it all out.

I think there's only tax of Foreign coins... Any coins that are legal tender in the US are Non-Taxable... Foreign coins where money is exchanged at higher than current exchange rates is taxable, bullion is also taxable (But not, that since AGEs are Legal Tender, they are not taxable)

You are exactly right on. This is Florida Law.
