Is anyone keeping track of how many third party grading services there are?

Just wondering...

Besides the hand full of popular (if not respected) grading services, are there any smaller companies that look promising, or that offer a unique service?

Possibly there are companies that specialize in grading just one series? Perhaps there are companies trying to promote a new (better?) scale of grading?

Does anyone know of anything interesting going on out there in terms of new third party grading services?

Conder wrote a book on them. IMO the smaller companies arent anything special for the most part, many were made just to make money on ebay.

If I had a question or needed info. on a TPG service, I'd ask Condor101 (a forum member). He's the expert, IMHO.

There are 3.5 grading services (I give ANACS and ICG 0.75 each). The rest of them are irrelevant, except one, to the defendants.

Might I add that Conder101's book is surprisingly informative.

I recieved a copy last month and spent an entire evening reading descriptions and histories of all kinds of TPG's that I had never before heard of.

109 companies ???? For coins? Or are you counting all of the other collectibles that get graded? That's amazing. I can only name a few. The rest must be total losers.

first tier: PCGS + NGC (including NCS)

second tier: ICG + ANACS

third tier: SEGS

others: PCI, NTC, NCI, INS, Accugrade

OK I just named 11. Who the heck are the other 98 ?????
