Now that all the FUN threads are gone, and I am back from FUN & Disneyworld....

I wanted to make a post about FUN (So, suffer you coin freaks, suffer another FUN thread ):
1) Met a few handfuls of forumites. I like to fly under the radar mostly, so I wasn't in for the dinners, lunches, etc (aside from the PCGS Registry lunch where I was at a table with Longtimecollector, Cocoinut, Q David Bowers, David Hall, and a couple of others (Julian and Ron).
2) I did meet MadMarty....guess what he was doing when I saw him? Ferreting through a bunch of proof sets and chattering about sniping something Russ would want...and cackling). He is 100% in person like he is on the forum. Good guy (but don't tell him I said that) Also met IdahoGal (yep...as nice as on the forum as well, Rella (Roger was cool...but definitely not who I imaged in my mind, and he knows that ), Mark Felds (finally met the boyscout himself ), saw Laura in person but didn't intro myself as I didn't want to risk "my boys" being cut off if she was having a bad day, JB Stevens, Newmismatist, and Dennis of JadeRareCoins.
3) I sat down and chatted with Dennis....I bought 3 raw coins and 1 Anacs. The raw were a 1835 quarter in F-15, a 1858-O half in EF-40, and a 1858 half in EF-40. The Anacs was a 1829/7 bust half in VF-25 that he had had for about 1 day (it was an auction win).
Let me tell anyone reading this........I would buy from Dennis ANY DAY OF THE WEEK! The guy is a really cool dealer. Friendly, doesn't snub anyone, and is very educational about the older coins (since I mostly have morgans and modern "crap", I appreciated that VERY much. He was also very easy to deal with in EVERY aspect of the deal and sincerely wanted me to be happy with the purchases or moneyback.
EVERY dealer should be a dealer like Dennis is!!! (Mark is also a great dealer though he was more in a "buy" mode when I saw him whizzing around like a little bumblebee on the bourse ).
4) Saw a board member dealer with some great toned coins. Also saw a board member dealer sell a "honestly described" AT Franklin to a kid and his father because the kid liked it. It was sold for $50
Wish the dealer would have talked to the dad/kid a little more about what was meant by "artificially toned" when he sold them the coin and just said it was "artificially toned" and didn't mention anything else.
How much is an AT Franklin worth? Well, whatever someone would pay for it...in this case $50 although I wouldn't pay more than $5 even if I liked it.
Overall, if you haven't been to a large show, GO if you can. But, if it is your first one, and you aren't supercool like James Bond, expect to be overwhelmed.
Again, kudos to Dennis of JadeRareCoins for his actions as a dealer and as a person! If you ever get the chance to buy from him, do it.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I see some older material but I don't trust myself on grading them yet, nor do I trust most of these dealers so I don't get them yet.
