I'm just purchasing it to report it to SEGS and return it to them as any good community-minded individual should... I didn't even look at who else was bidding on it, though... I assume you are bidding on it for the same reason, though.

I thought we had a deal? I leave all the dredged up holed damaged net corroded coins on eBay alone (I know... I know... that's about 90% of eBay's inventory. . .) and you would leave these exotic SEGS Sample slabs alone?

Did I misunderstand our secret arrangement?

  • I paid $ for the slab like the auction said. I see nothing wrong with selling it since I bought it in a deal of sample slabs.

Here are some loopholes to the "not for resale" (Just in case you need them image )

"I wasn't selling it. I was trading it for money."
You could also be bidding for the rights to a $0 per month rent, after which time you get it free.

  • << <i>REAL men would set a record price for a sample slab providing they had the testicular fortitude >>

As someone who on two occasions HAS paid the record price for a sample slab, I'll take that as a compliment. (I don't hold the record right now but you never know, I might do it again if the right piece came up. This isn't it, and this isn't anywhere close to the record.)

I've got a number of peace medal nickels in my change - I'll stick them in some airtites and write "No Grade - Not for Resale" on them for only $29.95 each

And no limit to the number you can buy at that price.

  • A black NGC sample slab or a PCGS Regency sample slab would be a record setting price if one ever came up for sale.

I was curious about this. I was thinking you may have REALLY wanted to pay an absurd about for it and decided to use an alternate Ebay ID, then I realized that it wasn't yours... image

Look at that, Tumuss is bidding too... I guess everyone just wants to be a real man...
  • From the listing: I paid money for this sample, and see no problem in selling it like the last dealer did to me.

The coin is marked as not for resale. The original sale is sanctioned by SEGS (ie: when Cammie bought it), but any resale is forbidden. Off to jail you go.

    Cameron,

This concerns an active eBay auction by a board member, I thought these sorts of threads belonged on the B/S/T Forum?

Oh, if only we had someone here who could.. you know... police this sort of flagrant disregard for the rules of decorum... image
