This has bothered me for years....
On your 2 x 2’s, do you abbreviate Extra Fine as “EF” or “XF”

Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.

but why do you care what I put on my 2x2's?

I'd give you the world, just because...
Speak to me of loved ones, favorite places and things, loves lost and gained, tears shed for joy and sorrow, of when I see the sparkle in your eye ...
and the blackness when the dream dies, of lovers, fools, adventurers and kings while I sip my wine and contemplate the Chi.
<< <i>Most dealers solve that problem by using the letters AU. >>
Right on. Actually the simpler the better, its either AU or GEM BU, then you don't have to think much.
Save the lower grades like VF and XF etc for when you're looking to purchase your next GEM BU.
hence "X" marks the spot
hence hence XF

<< <i>Now that is a huge dilemma. You could always sell them and never buy again anything that is EF or XF. You could also do as one dealer I know; mark all XF/EF coins as AAU - almost about uncirculated. >>
It works,
I use XF but you can use either...

Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !
New Barber Purchases
If the coin is on the bubble ie .... VF/EF or XF/AU
If the coin is solidly betwen EF and XF I use: EF/XF
