No date in the auction title for the proof Frankie. You also have a snowball's chance in hell of selling it with a minimum bid of $100. It's worth about half that.

  • Sorry, but to me, this appears to be an end around to get people to look at your auctions!image
  • I don't like reserve auctions.
    image

    image
  • You should either start it at your full price or since you have a reserve, open it at 99cents. Those kind of opening bids turn everyone off.

    Good point.

    image
  • and as was already mentioned, a reserve is going to turn people away itself
  • Sorry guy,but your starting bids are too high.I'd wager the only one that sells will be the indian.

Your shipping charges are way too high and your feedback rating sucks.

I could care less if you look at my auctions or not. I'm asking for advice; isnt this was this sites about?

And my feedback doesnt suck, jerkoff. Take a look at who sent those feedbacks; private feedback, and people with negative feedback.

I guess you're regretting putting the words "honest opinion" in the title? Maybe you should change that to "opinions I like."

  • You have one negative feedback in one year but your rating is 97.5% which is lower than most outright scammers! Honestly I'd start over with new site since that's not fair. Then, auction the coins at some small minimum starter price and charge what the regular successful sellers do who post on the forums for mailing. In other words, copy their successful formula.

I agree with everyone's previous assessments, besides the a-hole and jerkoff comments.....image
Admittedly, TWQG's post was a little harsh, but I don't think it serves any purpose to get into it with people around here when one is new...

John, the angle of the pictures does not give a potential buyer a very good idea of what the coin really looks like. They are buying the coin, not the slab. Try to work on getting an entire closeup picture of the coin. There is nothing wrong with a reserve, but I would suggest a lower starting price. For those who won't bid on a reserved coin, they are just eliminating some nice coins from their collection. Be reasonable on the price, in other words check recent sales not pricing guides. Good luck.

Since you asked for an honest opinion - I would not bid on any of the coins. Your refund policy says no returns on slabbed coins, but the pictures are so bad no one can see what they are buying. Can't see any detail, and reflections from the holders obscure a part of the coins' image. As others have said your starting prices are too high, and your feedback is marginal.

People won't be interested in what they can't see. Take the time to take six pix. The pix you have reveal little more than confirming the coins are slabbed in the grade as advertised. People want to see the detail on the obverse and reverse. Hard to say anything more about the coins because I can't see them. When I see an auction like this I'm there 3 seconds -- the time it takes me to move on to something else.
    I brake for ear bars.
  • Whenever I see any feedback replies like this ...

Good transaction - shipping wasn't as fast as I would have liked, but sufficient
Reply by johnny5126: Gee, you're right, should of read your mind and shipped it next day Saturday.

I will never buy anything from that seller ever.
  • dthigpendthigpen Posts: 3,932 ✭✭
Why would you be so stupid as to leave a sarcastic, negative follow-up on positive feedback left for you that noted that they liked the product but the shipping was a bit slow, but still sufficient? Are you just thick? And then leave them a neutral saying "Sent payment quick"? I'd never, ever buy from you, please place me on your blocked bidders list.

I was tardy in shipping out a coin very recently...... I had some email issues that affected my ebay and paypal emails....

anyways, I wound up sending a email (when it got corected and I realized I had a buyer whom bin'd a coin) apologizing and I included a couple of raw Frankies for free, since it was my screw up and not the buyers....

He left this feedback for me as a result:

<< <i>Just a TERRIFIC Person to do Business with!! Highly Recommended Ebay Seller!! >>

and I got a email from the buyer, here is a part of it:

<< <i>I SINCERELY appreciate the quick ship and the extra Franklins...they're ALL Beautiful!! That was just a very nice thing to do!! I've left you positive feedback and wish that ebay didn't limit me to only 80 characters...I would have written a whole lot more.
    >>

and the buyer has since boughten 2 more coins from me, which I have yet to send out.... heh, PO was closed today..... image

Bad angles on your pictures make it impossible to get any real sense of what these coins look like. I could make any bids based on these pictures.

Sellers pictures are lacking in detail. However, don't we slab to verify a grade, in fact its "garunteed" by pcgs. So in some sense, wysiwyg! Yes, the feedback is not terriffic. Its not horrible either. Should we slam board members who are trying to get a read on the positioning of thier auctions? There are ways to approach criticism and not hurt the person receiving the criticism.

Sorry about the PCGS attribution. I guess its the koolaid. I am not advocating lying to anyone. I do think that there is a way to provide constructive criticism to those who are asking for it. Abrupt and abrasive responses turn people off to the boards, its a fact. When you look at coin number one for example its a PR66 UCAM. The obverse picture looks decent. The reverse pic has too much glare to be representative of the coin. The seller lacks some experience with photography and needs to understand how to shoot a proof coin and get that nice B&W contrast. Thats probably why he shot the pics from such an extreme angle. Ripping him down does not advance our hobby.

And yes, the pricing is not right. But if you have been in business ever you know that when the price point is wrong the products will not move.

Lucy, I guess if they stay more than a week they will be lifers. I have had my ASP handed to me more than a few times here. I certainly am not in the clique. But I read the boards each day in case someone drops a nugget of knowledge I might someday need. Hopefully hes got a thick skin and rumble!

Make that 201. image Actually, the Frankie auction has over 200 hits!

But look on the bright side: think of all the potential shillers who will not be shilling for your auction.

But seriously, my biggest criticism is the photography, as other have indicated. Work on the photography or use a scanner (not as good as a high quality photo but better than what you have now).

    Good luck!
