Can you help me guess the Grade on these coins.
I bought these coins at the coin show in Paris.
I have submitted this coin to grade and I will post the Grade at a later time, How close can you get ?

1904 looks either MS63 or Au58, 1874 looks dull - BB for cleaning IMHO
  • I have cleaned the 1874 with boiling water for about 2 min.
It should not be detected, or should it ?
    it is just water ????
    thx ???

Why did you dip it in boiling water for 2 minutes?

It was detected in the first post when he said cleaned. It is obvious and will get bodybagged.

  • The coin was really dirty and cleaning with water should not affect the grade. It was not rubbed what so ever.

    Sam,

Maybe you think it shouldn't but the coin looks cleaned none the less. It will get bodybagged. At least we warned you if you haven't sent them in yet to the grading service. Save your submission fees on that coin and don't send it in.

  • what about the other coin what would it grade ???

The 1904 looks like it's an AU-58/MS-63, depending on the wear. It also looks to have had a light cleaning in the past, but not one that'll result in a bodybag.
  • MS-62.
