I don't know how ...

I am going to send a coin in to ANACS. This is the first time I have ever used a TPG. Here is where I need a little help. It seems wrong to me to put the coin into a mailer with ANACS on the address label and a bunch of insurance on it. Is this how you do it? I feel like I am asking a “what finger does the condom go on?” kind of question, but when I address the mailer to ANACS, I feel like I am writing, “Free To Good Home.” How do you send coins in?

  • Registered mail for expensive stuff.

I also use priority, insured for $300 and under submissions and have never had a problem.

BTW, if you put a condom on your finger it's called a finger cot.

If it fits correctly you either have big fingers or a small (uhh, never mind )image

Registered Mail. Anyone who touches it, has to sign for it.
  • Registered mail. Ten-four. Thanks, guys.

It all depends on how risk-averse you are. Registered is best, of course -- but I've successfully sent coins to ANACS using nothing but delivery confirmation. They weren't very high value coins, so I didn't want to hassle with Registered -- just roll the dice and hope you don't crap out.
  • Thanks, Flamingo, but I only get one roll. My coin is potentially worth $1,500.00 as long as it is real. Also, if forgot to say, touché, LanLord.

  • Send it registered if it might be worth that much money.

  • I saw the pics of your 09s vdb- why don't you submit this to PCGS on a 5 day- this looks real close to a 64 Rd but that IMHO.
  • MorganHunter2, that is what I was thinking. I was told by several people here, at eBay, and at Coppercoins.com that ANACS was the way to go. Chuck at Coppercoins said that ANACS is the only TPG he recommends. (Chuck was a big help getting me started in copper.) I think there is a lot of bad blood because of PCGS’s new price “menu.” I always thought that PCGS was more universally respected. I don’t really care; I just want to know if the thing is real. If you click on the “real” link in the above post you will see the mint mark. I can’t see the die lump in the upper loop of the “s”.
