1942-D Quarter X 2

Just received this one in the mail today and thought I'd share it with you. Tough date to find with any colorful toning. If you have a 42d with nice color I'd love to see it. Added a duplicate further down the thread. Anybody else got one to show?

  • I must say, I am guilty of looking at each an every one of your colorful quarters over at the pcgs registry. They are awesome! If PCGS awarded "points" for toning, you'd be at No. 1 image

I agree with Chuck, your coins are amazing. I look at them in awe.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

ChuckC, Thanks! It's nice to know people actually take time to look. I love Washington quarters with color and I'm having a lot of fun trying to find more colorful coins to replace the ones I already have. Neverending process!image

Sure would like to see some other toned 42d's. If you got one, show it!

    That's a nice one.

    Looking for PCGS AU58 Washington's, 32-63.
  • Very Nice Quarter. I like that toning.

Regarding the toning, are there certain types of albums, holders, etc. that that type of toning typically comes from? I have some Wayte Raymond toned quarters, but they don't look like that!

It sure is a lot nicer than the 42-D I pulled from the cash register a work last night in good condition.image

  • Great looking coin!
  • Sorry I brought this thread back up but was hoping someone else would post pics of their toned 42d. Didn't get any responses with pics so thought I'd show my duplicate, also an MS66. Interesting, but not the type of toning that will please everyone, I'm sure. Anybody have any clues how this one got it's toning?

Well, those are certainly nice 1942D quarters... they put mine to shame.

This one is only lightly toned with golden hues, and furthermore is raw in an album, not a pcgs holder.

Still.. better looking than anyone else's that responded to your post, AKrick image

  • Was wondering when you would bring out that 67 Craig. Very nice! Always wondered, is the reverse toned on that one?

Hey Baley, thanks for posting your 42d. Nothing wrong with a golden hue!image

ChuckC, I really have a hard time selling my duplicates. Takes me a while to say goodbye. I'll keep you posted should I decide to sell one.image

Nice Quarters Rick ... HNY by the way ...

... of course when it comes to colorful quarters, I think most would agree you are kind of like a Hoover! image

Mine looks like Baleys, but not quite as nice ... a decent steel/gold AU55+ ... no picture on it yet.
