Yes -- nice picture, but what's the compression setting? The image is about 868K in size, which is quite large for a jpeg file.

I'm not sure how you even got that file to be that large, but I saved it to disk and reduced the JPG quality to "medium" in Photoshop. It's down to 190k and 99% of people won't be able to see any difference.

The image was taken in basic, image quality and image size was set at 1280 on my Nikon 4300. Cropped it in my picture file and retrieved the image as a jpg from there using imageshack hosting. I'm a dialup and the image took a while to load the first time, but faster after that. I'll downsize them some as I like to see the coin as a whole on my screen. image

Looks fine, but both the imagine size and file size are too large. I suggest trying about 700 pixels wide and sufficient jpeg compression to limit your files to 100K max.

Nice look, but it took a couple seconds to download, and I'm on a high speed terminal. The dial-up people will not be happy.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
