In case you don't know what haiku is, it's a Japanese poetry style that uses syllables as the main determiner of length. First line 5 syllables, second 7 and last 5.
Example:
I like them there coins
They are real shiny and bright
Brillo works wonders
There are three prizes for this contest.
#1 1859 cent around VF, a bit beat up, color a bit funny (maybe cleaned) but looks better in hand than close up. Good type set hole filler.
#2 1902 cent around MS63 some red, nice luster.
#3 1914 buffalo nickel. MS62 maybe, toned, kinda wood-grain.
So there you have it, make me some haiku that you are proud of. Funny, serious, whatever. I’ll pick the five that I like the most and will have a poll to figure out the three winners. The highest vote getter will get first choice of prize and second/third similarly.
Contest will end Thursday 1/13/05 at noon.
One entry per screenname. You can edit if you want, but edits will only be allowed before the deadline.

Some people think that is strange
But, I enjoy it
A coin's best friend is
A collector who shares the
Passion with others
This collector knows which one
To avoid a bath
Which one for sure I dont know
I like it anyway

Struck at high pressure at mint
Then put in coin book
Counterfeit junk from China
Or terribly whizzed?
Guess he likes to ogle them
He scares the children

My wife would kill me
If she realized the money
I have spent on coins
Sitting in my hand awsome
Where is my money
I always like haiku's its the only poetry I could do.

Collectors still gaze.
