Bowers and Merena scores SS Republic gold!

Just read this release on the B&M website. They will be auctioning 50 pieces of SS Republic gold in their Winter ANA auction. I have two comments:
1. I thought they were fading from the scene. This consignment shows that they are certainly still players.
2. I am disappointed with the way these coins are being distributed. A few from Dealer A, some from Dealer B, some more from Dealer C, a group being auctioned by B&M, some on a home shopping network, etc. Buy spreading out the distribution (in both location and time) as they have, they are making it very difficult for me, as a collector, to know what the entire hoard includes so that I can make an informed buying decision.
I have no intention of buying one of these pieces at this time, and the way the distribution is being handled, it will probably be many years before I would do so.

Aren't they making press releases with the # of coins and dates found? They said they would.
Cameron Kiefer
and they don't want the price to be depressed.
I also note that I received a B&M catalog from the Collectors Society and there are announcements regarding B&M auctions on that site. Perhaps some sort of cross marketing arrangement that led to this consignment.

I think that is exactly their intent!
