I'm no Russ, and to be honest, I check the AH varitiey by the missing serif in the "I".

<< <i>So is it an AH or did PCGS get it right? >>
PCGS got it right. The problem with focusing only on the truncated serif is that it can happen on a regular variety with a little grease fill in that area.

Hey that's my coin.
At that grade it doesn't matter much but I assume both PCGS and Russ are correct.
I just got grades posted were I sent in 3 AH, but only two (the low grades) came back as AH.
I don't hunt for them because appearently I can't even tell when I have them in hand, but I check the "I" on unopened sets I get. I guess I need to actually check the HAIR for the ACCENTED HAIR variety

If you want them to designate the regular variety as an Accented Hair, you need to put it at the end of a submission with a bunch of Accented Hairs right in a row. That's what I did with this one (which I deliberately recorded as an AH to see what would happen):
After grading about 10 in a row, they just get in the habit and don't look very closely.

On my last submission I sent 2 in on line #20 - and I'm pretty sure only one of them is an AH using my "I" criteria.
Since there is no line #21 it will be interesting to see what they do - call them both AH or neither AH.
