Yet ANOTHER!!!! Mini-sota choke job.

Are you kidding me? These guys folded their tents like France. First you make Josh McClown look
like Montana and then you make Pat Ramsey look like Theismann. Im not sure if you are out of the
playoffs yet but who cares you all just suck!

....and the best part is that Tice is there forever! LOL

  • ...and they still made the playoffs.
  • Tice punts again down by 11 at midfield, 4th and 5 7 minutes left. He really has no grasp of reality. Burleson drops one that woulda made it interesting. Goldberg hold wipes out a unreal Moss td catch. Moss walks off the field. The Vikings get into the playoffs anyways. Tice keeps his job.

I dont know what the he11 to think... I really dont care that they made the playoffs. They arent going anywhere. Next year? No, cause they still have Mike Tice...

My buddy made it until the final week on the suicide pool. He took Minnesota and lost. I told him
Minnesota really blows. He couldn't believe they sucked that bad. I told him but he wouldn't listen.
It cost me 10% of the pot too!image

The bucs had one of their worst years in a long time yet finished only a few games out of the playoffs.
Id rather have the draft pick. Carolina choked big time....they were the only team with defense in the
NFC. I honestly think anyone could win it, minus Seattle.

Nice way to back into the playoffs. The Packer's will enjoy spanking you again this year.

    JS
  • I think Carolina could have won the NFC the way those guys were playing, but the Aints came marching in today. JS, you think STL or Minn could win the NFC? I think the only three teams that have a shot are Philly, ATL and GB.

I really could see the Rams going to the SB this year, eventhough I HATE Martz. They have already
beaten Seattle on the road and come into the game hot. I think Philly fan can breath a bit more
now but I see them as sitting ducks.

Tice is the only thing holding back the Vikes...well except their lack of D....but thats all over the NFC
    this time.

Ill take the Rams over the Hawks, GB over Minnesota. Vick over the Pack, Rams upset Philly and
then Rams over ATL. Philly has an easy road if the Rams lose in the first round.

    JS
  • I'll give the Rams respect for beating a tough NYJ team, but they're terrible on the road. I was cheering for Carolina because I think they could have played well against the Eagles. I doubt the Rams or Seahawks will hang with the Eagles, but I think the Seahawks might do better than the Rams.

I also thought Carolina would be the most dangerous NFC team in the playoffs. Now I would say it is wide open, even though Philly still has the best team they'll have tremendous pressure on them to finally win in the championship game. I like Atlanta to possibly be the team, but I'm rooting for the Rams, we'll see.
  • Peyton and Vick SB. image
  • Local news has fans all over TICE. Never seen anything like this. We are in but dont care. We want the guy OUT. Now Chavous, who has sucked all year is out too. That $20 Million under the salary cap would have won us a few playoffs games, maybe the ring. Tice and McCombs, F you... This is a diehard fan who cares about his team, doesnt enjoy being the laughing stock of the NFL.

  • I'm feeling ya beef, I hate to say this but I really didn't want the Viking's to make the playoffs. I am a diehard fan but this does us absolutely no good. If Tice would have blown it again and not made the playoffs, McCombs would have had to do something! "Well you can't fire the guy because he's got a contract" is what I can hear some of you saying. Forget that! How many people blow just one game and their contract is bought out or ripped up or whatever? OH this is a bad situation. Tice should quit, that would be the right thing to do. We've wasted enough time. Time to rebuild, get Culpepper and Moss a ring before it's too late!image

Wouldn't surpise me a great deal if they beat the Packers, however I don't think they will. It has nothing to do with choking, but the reality that expectations exceed the talent that they have. Sure they have a handfull of great players, but they are way thin especially on defense. Too many middle wrong weak drafts have caught up with them. Two years in a row they have started strong only to finish miserably. This tells me that their roster is not that strong. They need to address this defiency in the future.
  • martz is by far the laughing stock of the league- Superbowl?? unlikely- but they're playing decent ball right now.

Lets go Rams- Beat the Seahags
Looking to Trade and Buy Tony Romo GU/Autos/RCS
  • Trust me TICE has taken that spot. Just hasnt hit in your area yet.

Buzz on Moss has been Trade him for a few years now, thats just grown. Would they be a better team without him, NO but he obviously isnt a team guy.

What did Moss do? I heard something typical but not sure what ...

  • There was a few seconds left in the game and Moss left and went to the dressing room. Big deal, he's frustrated. Game was basically over. He had one of the years most awesome touchdowns called back because of a holding call, I don't blame him at all. The Vike's season will be over soon anyway thanks to Tice.
Culpepper to ?, only God knows at this point!
  • You DONT walk off on your teamates though...

They didnt walk off on him when he had a false start at the 6" line on 3rd down did they?

Did anyone hear Tice's comments after he heard they were in the playoffs?

'People say we backed into the playoffs...well...at least we're in...we got in the position we're in and we were able to back in'

Instead of saying the team was fortunate to be in, he seemed happy to have backed in.

    God Tice is just AWFUL.
  • You should hear the sound bite clips they play of his laugh around here. Mike Morris' show constantly plays em. Morris is his buddy too. At least was. Basically the laugh is Patrick on Spongebob, not that I watch that image

  • I can't say how dissapointed I am in this years Vikings and Mike Tice. A little better coaching/clock management would have gone a long way this year. I know the defense has been playing poorly but the real problem for this team is the poor play of the O line. Poor pass protection, false starts, holding penalties that negate big plays. The Vikes are built for speed and big plays. The D just needs to make a few stops and a big play or two for them to dominate, but when the o line breaks down they're in trouble.

By the way, the games at the beginning of the season count just as much as the games at the end, that's why they play them. The Vikings EARNED a playoff spot by having the 6th best record in the NFC period. It makes no difference in what order the wins come. So take that Backin in comment and stick it. And anybody that says they hoped the Vikings didn't make it in is no real fan. You pull for your team, thick and thin. Bleed purple or pick another team.

Know this, the slate is clean. This is the playoffs. Everybody is 0-0. The Vikings have the talent to win 3 straight against anybody. Will they? Probably not, but you can bet your tucas I'll be rooting for them. Because I am a real fan. I remember Randall Cunningham leading a Vikes wild card team to a shocking victory against the heavilly favored Giants. I remember Wade Wilson taking a wild card team to New Orleans and smoking them, before he and Anthony Carter went to San Fran the next week and lit up the unbeatable Niners. Montana and Rice didn't know what hit them. This years Vikings have more talent than either one of those teams.

The Vikings lost twice this year to Green Bay. Both 34-31, both on last second field goals. The one in Green Bay the Vikings recovered a fumble on a kickoff that would have sealed it had the boys in stripes done their job correctly.

The Vikings have been a dissapointment for sure. But they are every bit as good as the Packers. Remember the Packs losing streak earlier this year at Lambeau? Don't count out the boys in purple just yet.

They finally got a break...they may just take advantage of this one.

  • I guess Im no real fan then(in your description), cause I really didnt care that much if they made it. They are NOT going to beat Green Bay. Even if they did pull off a miracle, they will NOT win the next game. If you took a poll of Vikings fans, Id BET that a very high percentage wouldnt have cared if they made it. This isnt 1998, when they had a chance to win it all. Or 2000. Wake up, the first 6 games were to the bottomfeeders of the NFL, they won 5 of them. Yay.

Your making it sound like us fans that didnt care are rooting against them. Wrong, we just want changes. Missing the playoffs again would have got Tice off the field, period.

Yeah the Vikes were screwed in GB on that kickoff, and they were screwed with Favre getting an extra timeout to kick a Fg in Minny. I havent missed a fricken snap of a Purple game in who knows how many years, so wake up.

    Am I speaking Chinese?

    image
  • the only way they can beat the Pack is if they keep the defense off of the field, the last game they didn't do that because they scored so damn quick each time, 14 seconds for two TDs is to quick for our defense lol.

Btw im happy to be in the playoffs, we didn't deserve to be there but were there, playoffs equal a clean slate any anything can happen.
  • Well said beef. I am a fan, but we need changes more than we need one playoff game this year. And we are not every bit as good as Green Bay because they have a better record, isn't that what you are saying about the Vikes being good enough Vikesfan40? To be in the playoffs, they earned it with their record, well, Packers have a better record than the Viking's so they are a better team, and I really don't like saying that but it's true. Viking's have no confidence, Packers have a lot. And suppose the Viking's by some miracle did get to the Superbowl(not gonna happen), but say they do. How bad would the Steelers, Patriots, or colts whoop them, and if they made it we'd be stuck with Tice forever! AHHHHH, I can't even think of that. Do you know how many touchdowns Peyton Manning would put on our defense in a huge game like the superbowl? about 16! How embarrassing would that be for us all? I am a fan, but I'm a fan who wants changes. And the #1 change we need is Tice out the door! It's gonna be awfully cold in Green Bay on Sunday, and you know how they play in the cold, just ask Da Bears!image
Culpepper to ?, only God knows at this point!
  • we played the colts this year without randy moss and in the colts stadium. Big game, peyton is not a known playoff winner(yet lol).

Oh btw we lost to the colts by 3 also =(

The best team is not necessarilly the team with the best regular season record. The team with the best record is not automatic Super bowl Champions either. That's what the playoffs are for.

  • Well normally when one team beats another team twice in one season, people will most likely think that the winner of both games is the better team. And I would still rather have Tice gone than have one playoff game!

Unless the games are blowouts, then I think it very difficult to beat a team three times in one season. I just hope the Rams can do it.

  • << <i>Well normally when one team beats another team twice in one season, people will most likely think that the winner of both games is the better team. And I would still rather have Tice gone than have one playoff game! >>

The last time the Vikings played the Bears in the playoffs they were at home, heavily favored after easily sweeping the Bears in the regular season......Bears won. Remember? History proves it is in fact very difficult to beat a team 3 times in 1 year.

McCombs was going to retain Tice anyway. He picked up the option before the Skins game. He's trying to sell the team and wanted to keep them as marketable as possible. That's why he signed Tice for 1 year at one of the lowest salaries in the NFL. Who else you gonna get at those terms? Less out of pocket for Mccombs and any potential buyers can pick their own coach without having to honor a big money long term deal for the guy they fire.

I understand your frustration with Tice. I'm ready for a change too but I always root for my team gameday. And I know what they're capable of. They can stink it up, but if they're clicking they could spoil the Packers and the Eagles seasons.

    Just to clarify a point:

~"Unless the games are blowouts, then I think it very difficult to beat a team three times in one season. I just hope the Rams can do it."

~"The last time the Vikings played the Bears in the playoffs they were at home, heavily favored after easily sweeping the Bears in the regular season......Bears won. Remember? History proves it is in fact very difficult to beat a team 3 times in 1 year."

According to ESPN on Sunday - 15 times a team swept the regular season series with an opponent they met in the play-offs. Of those 15 - 10 won the third game and completed the sweep. So 67% of the time the team sweeps the series.

vikesfan makes a good point. If I were going to buy the Vikings, I wouldn't want a coach locked in at a hefty salary (unless it was Belicheck or Reid) and I would fire Tice with my first move. I can empathize, as the Eagles had Richie Kotite and his "wet charts" for many long years.

    Tice looks stupid as well.
