PM sent Tom. Finally after working non-stop on this computer mystery, I believe I've solved it and should have my regular computer running tomorrow, back to normal within 48 hours, however I will have lost everything. Anyway, I'd like to help....better late than never.

As for what Charity you want to give to, I trust you and your judgement, I recall all too well 9-11 and all the BS with the Red Cross and how much of peoples' charity actually went where it was supposed to versus administrative costs etc....everywhere but where it was supposed to go.

I've had Fox News Channel and O' Reilly and every now and then some CNN and the amount raised, not counting unknown charities such as yours which I commend you for, is astronomical and I think that's great but again, I can't help but recall 9-11 and how these big organizations line their pockets.

It would almost be better if I flew you out there and let you put the money to use as you see fit, the way all of you trusted me. I never know when this thing will cut out bit one thing for sure is that I should be up to full speed in the next day or two. If I can help, please let me know! I'd like to help but have had tunnel vision with this computer problem since the day after Christmas. I'm with you buddy!

Donation sent, item pledged. I've been listening to the Fox News Channel and known donations have topped 4 billion dollars not counting Charities like this. Man, they are reliving 9-11 and the way these big organizations...ya know, the "reputable" ones, line their pockets. Remember all the stink with the Red Cross and all that Bill O'Reilly uncovered?

Crap, they just had a major aftershock that measured 6.2 in that very same region. Man, I sure feel for all those folks. TV has desensitized us all over the years. A number just doesn't phase us anymore. Over 150,000 known dead and I just heard that the actual count may well be double. JUST THINK ABOUT THAT! A quarter of a MILLION DEAD in the blink of an eye!

Makes ME appreciate every day that I open my eyes for the gift from God that it truly is. Pray for these peoples' souls. Life offers no guarantees and we all take so much for granted. Just look at Reggie White. 43 years old....GONE! There is no guarantee that our hearts will beat the next beat or that we'll wake up tomorrow. Peace!

With all the donations of coins. I have a gueation for one of the CPA coin collecter in here. How much is the book value of the coins?
If one of you can figure it out and give TUMUSS the info it might generate some more money. I for one think this auction could be a bonus buy for a dealer out there. But I'd like to see the cause get as much as possible.

If smoeone outbids me, I will donate an extra $300 to the cause - and I ain't done bidding yet!! image

  • I could be all wet but my "very" conservitive estimate on everything in the auction is over $3,500. My conservitive estimate has it over $4,500 ...

Of course I didn't include the gum .. Priceless

This is of course is for charity so all estimates can be thrown out the window.

I would think this would be the perfect auction for a newbe getting into collecting. There is such a wide variety of coins. Something for everybody.
