Mad Marty suggested an auction where the proceeds will be donated toward relief of the Earthquake/Tsunami victims (THE LATEST DEATH TOLL est. OVER 150,000). WELL...here it is COLLECTORS UNIVERSE "EARTHQUAKE/TSUNAMI" RELIEF AUCTION!!!
All proceeds (less fees) will be donated to the charity of choice via poll thread.
PLEASE POST THE CHARITY YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE THESE PROCEEDS GO TO ON THIS TREAD!! I will then run a poll thread that lets the forum decide.
ANYBODY that wishes to "sweeten the pot" on this auction...Private Message me a picture of the item(s)...and I will promptly add it to the auction.
POSSIBLE CHARITIES:
The American Red Cross
The International Red Cross
UNICEF

not much in the way of a high dollar coin- but thought it would be an added incentive- seems some items are 40's related!

(In the small chance I am unable to find this coin in all my stuff, and I have to send a replacement, that replacement will be double the value, though not an old gold coin.)
Either the International Red Cross or Unicef would be fine by me. I think you ought to put a link to this thread in the auction, maybe.

<< <i>You need some gold in there. Something OLD, too. This qualifies on both counts, and since India was one of the affected countries, I suppose it's triply appropriate. Consider this my contribution.

I thought about doing something like this, but am glad somebody else took the initiative.
